Preparation

Preparation.

When it comes to fighting spiritual battles, that's a word to remember every day when we arise. Most believers don't pay much attention to it. They don't prepare themselves in advance. They don’t think about being attacked until the devil makes his move, then they jump up and many times find themselves in a knee-jerk reaction... and often they lose the battle because they are not prepared.

One day the Lord showed me that by waiting until the attack to prepare, to take my stand, I was giving Satan the edge by letting him catch me off guard. And consequently, I was losing many of my battles. When I heard that, I made up my mind never to be caught unprepared again.

I started reading God’s Word each morning asking the Holy Spirit how this Word applied to my life and situation. A began meditating about how I had been assaulted in the past and praying about my day in advance, getting the stage set spiritually before it ever began. Instead of letting Satan get his forces entrenched, I started throwing him out before he got a single foothold. When I did, I saw more victories than I ever had before.

Don't let the devil catch you off guard. Be prepared! Start studying the Word, praying and speaking the Word of faith now over your family, your business, your church. Get your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Then when the enemy strikes, you'll be well equipped to kick his can and watch him flee…. A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Eph 6:10.
